 FAQs

  • Are Permits required?

Every County/ City is unique, you will have to contact your local building department to inquire about your specific               project. If you do require a permit, we can assist you with pulling the permit for you at no additional cost.
Permit fees are not included. Site specific drawings and calculations can be purchased separately, if requested.

  • What kind of surfaces do you install the building on?

We can install the building onto concrete, ground, gravel, asphalt, containers and docks.

  • Does the ground need to be Leveled?

Yes, all of our quotes are assuming the ground is no more than 3" off level. If the ground is more than 3" off level we                 can still install the building, however you will have to pay an additional labor charge in order to level out the building.

  • What do I need to do to get the Project started?

We would need to get a signed contract and pay a deposit ranging from 10%-18% depending on the type of building.

  • What is your Turnaround/Installation time?

Turn-around time varies depending on location. You can check out our lead times tab for current lead times. Your
turn around time does not begin until you have informed us that you are ready for installation and have had your
ground work completed. If going through the permit process, then your lead time does not begin until your permit is              approved and your ground work is completed.

  • What type of Anchoring comes with my structure?

All of our structures come with the anchoring that matches the surface type.
Installation on soft ground comes with 32" rebar anchors which are inserted through predrilled holes onto our base                rail and mobile home anchors which are drilled into the ground for a secure hold. If you have hard ground, we use 32"            rebar anchors and rock anchors which are hammered into the ground.
If the building is going onto concrete, we drill holes 4" away from the edge of the concrete to avoid any cracking or                  blowouts. We then insert wedge anchors through the pre drilled hole in our base rail and into the concrete.
If the building is installed onto asphalt, we insert rebar anchors through our base rail and into the asphalt along with               asphalt anchors which are hammered into the asphalt.
If  the building sits on top of shipping containers, the building's base rails are welded onto the container for a secure               hold.
If the building is installed onto a deck or dock, the base rails are screwed down to docks/ decks with lag bolts.
Custom anchoring requirements beyond ground/gravel, concrete, or asphalt may be subject to an additional
installation fee for labor and material.

  • I am getting ready to pour my concrete, what is the size you require?

When It comes to concrete you have various options to choose from when pouring. Please note these                                              recommendations are for buildings up to 30' wide, if your building is wider than 30' please contact us for your                            concrete recommendations. If you are pulling a permit please wait until the city or county approves your plans before            you pour any concrete.
Option 1: The most standard type of concrete slab would be a slab bigger than the building. The slab must have a                     12"wide x 12" deep footing (or per local code) with a 4" slab. We recommend you pour your slab 3" bigger than your               building size all the way around in order to give us room to anchor down the building into the concrete slab.
We highly recommend you tell your concrete contractor to do a 3" bevel around the perimeter of the building to avoid          any water from coming into the building. Please be aware that if your concrete contractor does not do the bevel, you              run the risk of water going under the base rail of the building. When this happens we offer a temporary solution which          is applying Sikaflex all the way around the building as a sealant( at an additional cost), you can also have some sealant              available for the installers to install for you at an additional labor charge.
Option 2:  With this option, In order to make the building watertight all around, the slab must be the EXACT size of                  the  building (outside to outside). The perimeter must be a minimum of a footing (12″inches wide x 12″inches deep)                 with a 4" slab or more according to your local codes. Every anchor must be 4″inches away from the edge of the                           concrete slab to prevent blow out and cracking which is why we must include the interior anchor system where clips            are welded onto the base rails to allow us to drill away from the concrete's edge. The interior anchor system is at an                additional cost. With this option we can prevent the water from running under the base rail by extending the panel to            pass the base rail and cover part of the concrete edge. Please make sure your concrete pad is perfectly square for the            building, otherwise we will have to charge back trip fee's along with added labor fees. If the pad is not perfectly
squared, part of the building will be hanging off of the concrete pad making it unable to anchor down the building.
Option 3: Pouring concrete footings will allow you to have the building anchored down to concrete, but it would be                more cost effective since it will not have a full concrete slab attached. We recommend your footings be a minimum of           15" wide x 12" deep. Please keep in mind the legs of the building need to fall on the center of the concrete footings. Our        width is based on outside dimensions. Please make sure your concrete footings are perfectly square, otherwise we will        need to charge a back trip fee along with an added labor charge. Once your order is placed, you can ask our production        department for a drawing and more details for your specific building size.

  • Can The metal building be installed onto shipping containers?

Yes, we can install the building onto shipping containers, however you need to make sure the shipping containers are             perfectly squared so the building can sit on top of them. We then provide a welder to weld the building onto the                       shipping container. In most cases we will require a reach lift in order to install the building on top of the shipping                       containers.
